EntreNós 18+International chat guide
SHARED INTERESTS • CONVERSATION • CONNECTION

Make friends online through meaningful conversations

Meeting people beyond your usual circle can introduce you to different interests and perspectives. This guide offers practical ways to start an international conversation, respect cultural differences and decide what to share. It also explains the current limits of joining EntreNós.

Start with a shared interest

Friendship is easier to explore when there is something concrete to talk about. Music, films, books, food and everyday routines can give both people room to contribute. Read what someone has chosen to share and ask one thoughtful question rather than sending the same introduction to many people.

Conversation starters for meeting people online

Try an open question: “Which song have you been listening to lately?” or “What food would you recommend from where you live?” Share your own answer too. Avoid asking for an exact location, workplace or private contact details. If the conversation is one-sided, give the other person space instead of sending repeated messages.

Connect across languages and time zones

Agree on a language before starting a longer conversation. Use short sentences and explain unfamiliar expressions. A late reply may simply reflect a different schedule. Do not assume that a person represents an entire country or culture; let them describe their own experience.

From a first conversation to an online friendship

A friendship can grow through small, regular exchanges about shared interests. Ask before sending photos or starting a video call. Respect a refusal and avoid pressuring anyone to move the conversation to another service. Neither a profile nor an ongoing conversation guarantees someone’s identity.

How EntreNós works for international visitors

EntreNós is a free platform for adults aged 18 or over. The main interface and registration are in Portuguese. The current registration form requires a valid Brazilian CPF, so registration is not currently suitable for every international visitor. Chat is available to registered, signed-in members and may require mutual interest. Member availability in any country or city is not guaranteed. This English guide does not add automatic translation, country filters or worldwide access to registration.

Photos, videos and privacy

Photos and videos are for signed-in members. Private albums also require permission from the content owner. Only share media you are comfortable sharing, and remember that a recipient may capture content on their device. Do not send money, passwords, financial details or identity documents to people you meet in chat. Use blocking and reporting when needed.

Choose your next step
